A teacher of mine once said that having even one healthy relationship in your life can act as a protective factor against life's challenges.
My goal is to provide you with a safe and supportive environment in which such a relationship can develop. Holding the belief that all views of reality are valid allows me to offer you a space where validation, respect, acceptance, and compassion are the cornerstones of each interaction.
The ultimate goal, however, is to help you develop this relationship with yourself; to help you be the person your younger self needed so that you become your own source of resilience and power.
I am inspired by an eclectic approach to therapy, which means that we will work together to find ways of change that work for you as an individual. My hope is that through our work together, you will re-discover self love, self-compassion and strength so that you can retake control of your life.
For the last five and a half years I have worked as a Recreation Therapist on an adult inpatient forensic mental health program. I hope to bring my knowledge base of self-care and leisure skills to the therapeutic setting. My work is informed by a trauma-informed and client-centered lens, which allows me to meet you where you are in your journey and approach the therapeutic relationship with a supportive and non-judgemental stance. I look forward to walking beside you as you take steps forward in your journey to healing.
Healing is a uniquely individual process, but that does not mean that you have to undertake this journey alone. With a background in social service work, I have worked with a diverse array of people, from all different walks of life. My approach is mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, and client-centred, supporting you in realizing your goals and discovering a deeper sense of holistic well-being.

Sometimes life’s challenges can feel too overwhelming to process alone. When your mental health is being affected, confiding in someone who can hold a supportive space for your thoughts and feelings can be so important.
